The Sanctuary at www.dee-annlouise.com is operated by Dee-Ann Louise. This policy explains how I handle personal information when you visit, create a member account, contact me, make an offering, or receive private access I choose to share. Privacy enquiries may be sent to DeeAnnLouise@gmail.com.

Information collected and its purposes

When you create an account, Wix collects the email address and login information needed to operate it. Your account may also contain a name, profile information and preferences you choose to provide. If you use a social login, information is handled through that provider and Wix according to the options you authorize. Please review the profile-visibility choices at signup; account membership should not be confused with private correspondence.

When you contact me, I receive your contact details and the content of your message. Please share only information needed for your enquiry and avoid sending identity documents, medical records or other highly sensitive information through ordinary messages.

If you make an offering, I may receive information supplied by the payment provider, such as your name, email address, amount, currency, transaction reference and message. I use this to acknowledge and administer the offering, keep necessary records, resolve payment questions, and send any private access I have chosen to provide. Payment providers handle payment credentials under their own policies; I do not receive your full payment-card details through the site.

Wix and connected website features may process technical information, including IP address, browser and device details, cookies, page activity and security logs, to deliver and protect the site and, where enabled and permitted, measure its use.

Accounts and email preferences

Creating a site account creates a membership/contact record containing the email address you provide. The signup screen explains that Dee-Ann Louise may send private correspondence to that address. Correspondence may include a welcome, account information, replies to your messages, Sanctuary news and invitations. Account administration and security messages may be needed to operate your account. Promotional messages, including invitations to make offerings, require the consent or other lawful permission applicable to those messages; the signup notice does not remove those requirements. You may stop optional correspondence using an available unsubscribe link or by contacting me. Stopping optional emails does not itself delete your account, and deleting an account does not require deleting records that must lawfully be retained. A limited suppression record may be retained to honour an unsubscribe request.

Cookies and third-party features

Cookies are small files placed in your browser. Essential cookies support functions such as security, sessions and member login. Other cookies and similar technologies may support analytics, preferences or marketing features, depending on the features and integrations in use. The site currently does not display a cookie-consent banner. The absence of a banner does not mean cookies are absent or that optional technologies are blocked. Your browser controls can restrict or delete cookies, although some account and website functions may then fail. This description does not replace any consent required by applicable law.

External links, including PayPal and social networks, lead to services with their own privacy practices. Embedded content and connected services can also process information. I use Wix to host and operate the site and its membership and email tools, and payment providers to process offerings. Those providers may process information outside British Columbia or Canada, where local laws may permit access by courts or authorities. I do not sell personal information. Information may be disclosed to service providers as needed for the purposes above, where legally required, or to protect legal rights and site security where permitted by law.

Retention, security and your choices

I retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, account administration, legal and financial recordkeeping, dispute resolution and respecting communication preferences. Retention depends on the type of record and applicable requirements. I use reasonable safeguards and restrict access, but no website, email service or online transmission is completely secure; ordinary email is not guaranteed to be confidential.

You may ask about my handling of your information, request access or correction, withdraw consent where applicable, or request deletion, subject to lawful exceptions and identity verification proportionate to the request. You may also raise a concern with the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.

The Sanctuary is intended for adults aged 18 or older. If you believe information from a minor has been submitted, please contact me so it can be addressed.

This policy may change as the site changes. Material new uses of information will be explained and fresh consent obtained where required; publishing a revised policy does not by itself create consent for an unrelated new purpose.
